Gala Days June 24th & 25th, 2017
SATURDAY – 24th
Kingsport Gala Days has a busy lineup June 24 that includes a number of family-friendly activities:
8:30 am – Race Against the Tide. 7:30 Registration at the Waterfront

The second annual Race Against the Tide 3K and 5K beach run will be hosted in conjunction with Kingsport Gala Days June 24. For more information go to facebook.com/Kingsport Gala Days
8:30 am – 11:30 am – Waterfront Flea Market
Space is available on the west side of the wharf beginning at 8 until 12 noon.
Individuals may set up their own tables but will have to clear the area by 11:30 because of other scheduled events. There may also be individual yard sales throughout the community.
9:am – Bake Sale
The sale continues until everything is gone and this does not take very long!
9 am – Visit the The Lloyd Centre in Kingsport for:
Muffins and coffee – Free will offering
Wine and Cheese Gift Basket $2.oo per ticket, $5.00 for 3 tickets
9am – 11:30 am Displays in the Lloyd Memorial Centre.
Back again this year is the historic Model Train display with Paul Bushnell and Dan Conlin.
9am – 11:30 am Hand Crafted Quilt Raffle
The Annapolis Valley Decorative Artists Group have one of their beautiful creations on display and for Raffle.
10am – 11 am Yoga The class is on the Eaton Lawn, Pleasant Street, ocean end.
11 am -2:30 pm – Chicken BBQ Tickets on sale at the Lloyd Memorial Centre $12 each.
11 am -9:45 pm – Tide’s In Canteen
Tide’s In Canteen is located at the beach and will be serving meals, treats and ice-cream.
Gala Days Specials:
Shoe String Fries $3.95
Sand Dollars $4.95
11 am- 3 pm –The Park Canteen
This canteen will be located opposite the Park from 11 am – 3 pm serving hot dogs, chili, water, pop and chips.
9am – 9:30pm 50/50 tickets – Draw 9:50pm Saturday
Watch out for the folks in the Pink 50/50 t-shirts wandering around the Village or buy the tickets at the Lloyd Memorial Centre. Ticket will be drawn after the evening music event at the Waterfront just before Fireworks.
11 am -3 pm Tarot Card Reading in tent on Lloyd Memorial Centre property. $10 for 15 minute reading.
11 am – 3 pm Plein Air Art Event
This event is lead by Ron Hayes. The Kindsport Arts Gropu will be painting in various locations through out the day on Saturaday. Their paintings will be on display in the Lloyd Memorial Centre at 4:30.
Noon Chowder and Strawberry Luncheon –
12 pm The very popular fish chowder and Strawberry Shortcake lunch will be available at the Emmanuel United Church. Fish Chowder $4.00 Strawberry Shortcake $3.50.
This event sells out fast so get there early!
Harp Music 1 pm– 3pm
Johanne McInnis, a professional harpist will be playing at the wharf for 2 hours.
Hilda Peill, a massage therapist, will offer a“ chair massage” as you enjoy the music.
Free will offering.
1:30 pm Kingsport Parade. Organization of participants 1 pm.
2 pm – 5 pm Classic Cars – Visit the corner of Pleasant and Water Streetto see the classic cars display.
12 pm – 4 pm There will be a 4-H display and small farm animals at the Park
2 pm – 4 pm Children’s games in the Park.
2 pm -3 pm
Take in a performance by the Kings Community Concert Band on the Anderson Lawn across the street from the Lloyd Memorial Centre.
3:30 pm – 6:30 pm Waterfront Music
Glen Davison will be spinning his own brand of music at the Waterfront
4:30 pm – 6:00 pm Chicken BBQ at the Lloyd Memorial Centre.
Dinner consists of half a BBQ chicken, coleslaw, potato salad, and a bun. Dessert and drinks can be purchased on site. Eat-in or take-out. Earliest pick up time is 4:30 pm.
7:30 pm- 9:45 pm The well known Local band Test of Time will perform at the Waterfront.
9:45 50/50 Ticket Draw
10 p.m FIREWORKS show at Kingsport Waterfront.
SUNDAY – 25th
9:30 Church Service Emmanuel United Church
10 am -Sandcastle Building Contest
Supplies for this event are donated by Kingsport Osteopathy Clinic.
2pm (or at High Tide) Kayak, Canoe Event
Flea Market,Race Against the Tide, Glen Davison Music, Test of Time Band, Harp Music Event & Chair Massage, Kayak and Canoe Paddle, Sand Castle Building, Fireworks.
Lloyd Memorial Centre community hall:
Muffins & Coffee, Bake Sale, Model train exhibits, Annapolis Valley Decorative Artists Quilt Tickets, Chicken BBQ Tickets,Wine and Cheese Basket Tickets, Chicken BBQ ( eat in or pick up Chicken Dinners), Tarot Card Reading.
Fish chowder and strawberry shortcake luncheon. will be available at the at noon. Sunday morning Church Service.
The spot to find children’s games, 4-H Displays, and the Park Canteen, and Antique Cars on the MacDonald lawn corner across from the Park.
Music is available on the in the afternoon and at the Waterfront in the evening.
